Gayatri Vidya Parishad, a premier educational trust formed and managed by eminent educationalists, philanthropists and technocrats of Visakhapatnam has established "College of Engineering" in 1996.
The G.V.P.College of Engineering located in madhurwada,visakhapatnam started with an intake of 200 in four branches of Engineering (Chemical Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering and Mechanical Engineering) is now offering instruction to 540 under graduate students in 7 branches of Engineering (Chemical, Civil, CSE, ECE, EEE, ME, IT).The cse and ece branches take 120 students while all the others take 60.
It also offers a center for Industrial Consultancy, as a result Industrial Consultancy Research and Development(ICRD) centre has been started in 2001.
In view of its good track record the college has been selected by the government of Andhra Pradesh to be the implementing agency for setting up the Indo-German Institute of Advanced Technology(IGIAT) at Visakhapatnam, an institute for advanced training supported by the Government of Andhra Pradesh and German Government through their funding agency GTZ.
