[edit] Criminal law
Sodomy was decriminalized in 1934.[1]
The age of consent is 15 years for both sexes, however corruption of persons under the age of 18 is criminalized as well.[2]
[edit] Anti-discrimination protection
Incitement to hatred on the ground of sexual orientation is prohibited since 2003, and in 2004 the anti-discrimination laws were amended to cover sexual orientation.
[edit] Same-sex couples
There is no recognition of same-sex couples at present. However, a proposal on Civil Unions is working its way through the National legislature. In September 2006, the proposal passed the Senate, but the Chamber of Deputies has yet to act.
