Gay (Russian: Гай, IPA: [ɡaɪ]) is a town in Orenburg Oblast, Russia, located 330 km south of Orenburg. It is the administrative center of Gaysky District. Population: 41,100 (2005 est.); 41,621 (2002 Census); 41,668 (1989 Census).

Gay was founded in 1959 as an industrial settlement. Urban-type settlement status was granted to it in 1965, and town status in 1979.

The coat of arms of Gay states: "Remember the Past. Believe in the Future."
