Talk:Gavi

[edit] Article name
Should this be moved to something like Island of Gavi or Gavi (Pontine Islands)? Generally people looking for Gavi will expect the town in Piedmont (it:Gavi).
- Cities are usually titled "CityName, ProvinceName", so there's no need to rename this article. Although when an article for the city is created, we should definitely add a disambiguation statement here linking to the city. --NormanEinstein 13:40, 14 April 2006 (UTC)
- I agree there is no hurry. Currently only two of the links to this article are really looking for the town. But the town is somewhat better known—mostly because of its wine. In the Italian Wikipedia, which might be taken as some indication for conventional naming, the island appears as it:Isola di Gavi, while it:Gavi refers to the town. (I haven’t noticed many cases, by the way, where Italian cities are titled "CityName, ProvinceName": certainly it’s not usual, except when there are cities with the same name in different provinces. Anyway, I have no immediate plans to create an article on Gavi so I am perfectly happy to let sleeping dogs lie. (They can dream of the island’s rabbits.) - Ian Spackman 16:46, 14 April 2006 (UTC)
