Gavi is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Alessandria in the Italian region Piedmont, located about 100 km southeast of Turin and about 30 km southeast of Alessandria. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 4,557 and an area of 50.9 km2.[1]

The municipality of Gavi contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Rovereto, Monterotondo, Alice, Pratolungo, and Sottovalle.

Gavi borders the following municipalities: Arquata Scrivia, Bosio, Carrosio, Francavilla Bisio, Isola del Cantone, Novi Ligure, Parodi Ligure, San Cristoforo, Serravalle Scrivia, Tassarolo, and Voltaggio.
