Gateway City is a nickname of Saint Louis, Missouri.

Gateway City also is a fictional city appearing in DC Comics. It is one of many fictional cities in the DC Universe. It is usually considered to be located in northern California and is similar to the real world city of San Francisco. It is not San Francisco, as San Francisco also exists in the DCU.

Initially created for use in stories featuring Mr. Terrific in the 1940s and then in the late 1960s featuring the Spectre, Gateway City years later became home to Wonder Woman for a time though it is now famous for being the home of Cassie Sandsmark, aka Wonder Girl II. Cassie attends school in Gateway with Cissie King-Jones, who was formerly the teen superheroine, Arrowette.

Prior to becoming commissioner of Gotham City Police Department, Michael Akins worked for the police of Gateway City.
