[edit] Alternate Reality?

What exactly is all this about Lumiere and Gaston? Were these proposed storylines for Kingdom Hearts 2? If so, they need sourcing. Or are they (more likely, IMHO) summaries of fan fiction? If that's the case, they should be deleted as fancruft.--Ddsilver 21:31, 21 April 2006 (UTC)

Maybe it was fancruft. Who knows? But I think it it saying that the Lumiere and Gaston stuff is a possible representaion of what might have happened between Sora and Gaston had Gaston been on KH2. I don't know, but that's what I think. I also think that it shouldn't be deleted, as the person who put it on says that they do exist. Whether it's true or not, that's a different matter.
After reviewing the section again, and considering what you've said, I removed the section regarding Gaston's place in unpublished fan-fiction works. It's rare enough to have fan-fiction information in Wikipedia in the first place, speculative fan-fiction is over the line.
I didn't say it was fan-fiction. Maybe Disney Studios or a different company were going to publish these stories, but were considered too violent to be based on a Disney film, so they were cancelled. I have read a summary of these stories and there is a new character named Wolftain, a humanoid swordfighting wolf who leads the wolves in the woods. The fights between Lumiere and Wolftain are very violent and bloody, so maybe that's why they weren't published.

Can anyone provide images of Gaston? --User:Angie Y.

Well, next time I rent the DVD, I'll snap a screenshot of Gaston to use for this article.

It should be made clearer, that the shooting of Bambi's mother is an in-joke. 85.226.122.222 08:14, 4 December 2005 (UTC) guys okay everyones said to have shot bambi's mother. unless you have a statemnt from disney saying so he didn't.

[edit] Gaston's wanting of boys

I know I might be asking a stupid question, but why does Gaston want Belle to have sons? Why does he call Belle his "little wife"? --User:Angie Y.

Because it's an extreme example of the mindset of the time. Women were seen as possessions of men and siring children (in wedlock, of course) was the highest achievement ordinary men could do, no doubt helped by the Christian God's request to propagate and evolutionary pressure. Gaston wanted Belle specifically because she was the most beautiful, thus the best, and he believed he deserved the best. Their hypothetical children most likely being attractive helped, too. Good genes with good genes and all. ' (Feeling chatty? ) (Edits!) 03:32, 5 May 2006 (UTC)

Good point. In the musical version, Gaston says "We'll be raising sons galore/Each built six foot four", so you can guess what gender the kids will be. And actually, this mindset has been around for countless centuries, even during the early 20th century. It's not that way now though. --User:Angie Y.

[edit] Kingdom Hearts Section

Since Gaston does not appear in any Kingdom Hearts game, should this bit be included at all? It seems to be just fanfic, which hardly strikes me as encyclopedic. Is there any reason this section should remain?

I think it should. Gaston was the main antagonist of BatB but still didn't feature in KH2. He was an important character, not like Maurice or D'Arque.
Oh, I think it's worth noting that despite his high standing as a Disney villain, he's not included, but I don't think that "Inverted Hearts" should be mentioned, much less pictured, as it's purely a fan product.
Well, actually, it's not really what you'd call a fan product. It's more like a game whose production was cancelled, since there are a few screenshots from Inverted Hearts here [1]. Wanna take a look? Jienum 18:22, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
I don't see how that means it isn't a fan product. A fan product is something that is developed by fans, and fangames are no excepticon. Fangames have been deleted from wikipedia before simply because they're fancruft. So has the former KHIH page - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Kingdom_Hearts_Inverted_Hearts 172.143.33.233 23:00, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
Well, as long as it is stated in the Trivia Section that he is not included in KH2 despite being the main villain of the film, that's alright. I just want it to say that he was not included on KH2. That's all. Jienum 11:34, 23 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Buffet of Manliness

What the hell is that nonsense crap supposed to mean? Jienum 13:51, 17 November 2006 (UTC)

It's apparently in reference to his status as a 4chan meme, Encyclopedia Dramatica has more info. I'd link you but they upset the wrong people here so they're blacklisted and I can't link them- just put .com on the end of the site name and search for Gaston --L T Dangerous 01:18, 5 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Maison de Lune

Maison de Lune does not mean Asylum for Loons. It means 'Moon House' in French. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 74.103.11.210 (talk) 19:29, 4 January 2007 (UTC).

  • Well, Mr. Anonymous, the film only refers to the madhouse as the Asylum for Loons. There is no mention whatsoever of a Maison des Lunes, so the French meaning can be deleted. Asylum for Loons is the true name of the madhouse in the film. Jienum 17:07, 28 January 2007 (UTC)
