[edit] TopNav_alt template

Hello and thanks for your contributions to the Closed Captions page. I noticed you were using the TopNav alt template that I created. Actually I only copied the Template:Users/TopNav from User:Tony_Sidaway and changed the colors because I didn't like them. It seems the 'watched' tab only works if you have a sub-page like "username/Watch". I think it's redundant so I just removed it from the template; hope that didn't inconvenience you.

Have a look at Tony's page to see how the original template is used in context. I think the 'user-links' tab is supposed to be for links to other users' pages on wikipedia altough of course you can use it any way you like! :)

Move this to the top of any of your user pages if you want; it's a useful navigational tool. Feel free to contact me on my talk page with any questions. -- ntennis 05:47, 30 Apr 2005 (UTC)

I didn't realize the navbars were custom. I'm still figuring out how this all works, and yours was one of the first user pages I looked up. More later Gary D Robson 11:29, 1 May 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Red Lodge/Smith Mine

Hi. Just a query about Redlodge (where my Great grandfather is buried). The roadside plaque outside Smith's mine records two miners and a hoist operator surviving rather than 3 miners. I know that this is a very pedantic point - but as you corrected 2 to 3 I just wondered what your view was ?

In my own texts, I always say that three men survived, rather than three miners (see the new Smith Mine disaster page). When I made the correction on the Red Lodge page, I missed that phrasing. I've corrected it there. Thanks for pointing it out. Gary D Robson 11:29, 1 May 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Image Tagging Image:Corriente.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Corriente.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL-self}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Shyam (T/C) 21:55, 8 March 2006 (UTC)

Thank you. It's my own photo, and I've added the appropriate information. Gary D Robson 18:40, 9 March 2006 (UTC)
