Talk:Gareth Southgate

I think this needs to be perhaps updated with less bias. 05/05/04 Ele.
[edit] 'most' famous?
I think it's hardly fair to say Southgate is 'most' famous for his penalty miss in 1996, or indeed to mention that in the introduction to the piece. He's an established defender and one of the most consistent players of the last 10 or so years; to instantly link him with that one moment seems unfair to all his achievements across his career. And there's no bias inherent here; I'm a Man Utd fan from Dublin. Just thought I'd point it out, is all. NaLaochra 12:04, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
- I completely agree. Not familiar with Southgate's career yet the opening paragraph comes across as unfair and resentful to me. Even checked if it wasn't vandalism, but the sentence was added six months ago already. Very odd. Still, the opening paragraph is a whole lot less biased than the first version of this article. Maybe England fans are just bitter people. (Kidding!) Igorrr 18:06, 22 August 2006 (UTC)

- I removed the reference on the basis that it is unverifiable and thus NPOV. I also cleaned up the article and added headings. NaLaochra 04:11, 13 September 2006 (UTC)
