Australian guitarist Gary Norman formed the fusion trio Triangle featuring Michael Mathews on bass and Justin Humphries on drums in 2000 which resulted in the release of the Cd “Against the Grain” on the Vorticity label in 2001.

The band played many interesting gigs in Melbourne, including a live to air performance on PBS Fm106.7 for “Bitches Brew”, supporting the Dave Weckl Group at the Corner Hotel on his 2002 Australian Tour and a rare residency at Manchester Lane every Tuesday for 6 months through Jul-Dec 2002.

The following year he began writing music for his first solo recording titled “Outside In” which was released independently in Dec 2003. This contemporary Cd was inspired by his one time mentor Bill Connors who rose to fame via the first Chick Corea electric band recording “Hymn of the Seventh Galaxy”

In 2005 he formed a jazz duo, the “Bebop Bros” with long time friend Gary Costello on double bass to play and record a Cd of the most influential tunes from the Bebop era. They currently perform regularly at various venues around Melbourne, with the release of the Cd scheduled for mid 2006.

Other groups Gary has been associated with recently include Mainstem and the Raga Dolls. He also appears on the Andrew Lloyd DVD “Masterpiece” recorded Sept 2001in China
