Gary Brackett (born May 23, 1980 in Glassboro, New Jersey) is a middle linebacker for the Indianapolis Colts of the NFL.

Brackett was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Colts out of Rutgers University. After starting at Glassboro High School in Glassboro, New Jersey, he walked on to the Rutgers University football team. By his senior year, he was captain of the defensive team and won the team's defensive MVP honors.

During a 16-month span, starting in 2003, Brackett lost his mother, father, and brother.

Brackett was signed by the Colts in 2003 and became a starter for the team in the 2005 season. That year he had 131 tackles and 3 interceptions. In 2006 he had 123 tackles. For his career, he has had 297 tackles and 6 interceptions. Brackett was AFC Defensive Player of the Week on September 11, 2005 after having 9 tackles and 2 interceptions against the Baltimore Ravens.
