Garth Stein

Garth Stein is an American author and film producer from Seattle, Washington. In 1991 he co-produced an Academy Award winning short film, The Lunch Date. He has also published several novels, Raven Stole the Moon in 1998 and How Evan Broke His Head and Other Secrets in 2005 [1]. Also in 2005, a play he authored, Brother Jones, was produced in Los Angeles, California [2]. He was born in Los Angeles, but grew up in Seattle. He attended Columbia University, where he earned a B.A. in 1987 from Columbia College and a Master's of Fine Arts from the film school. He currently lives in Seattle.
