Garry Michael Galley (born 16 April 1963 in Montreal, Quebec) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman who played in the National Hockey League from 1984 to 2001.

[edit] Early life
Galley played at Bowling Green (CCHA) from 81-82 to 83-84 and was named to the CCHA first all-star team and NCAA All-American in 1984.
[edit] Professional Life
Galley was drafted 100th overall by the Los Angeles Kings in the 1983 NHL Entry Draft. He played in 1,149 career NHL games, scoring 125 goals and 475 assists for 600 points. He also registered 1,218 career penalty minutes. His best offensive season was the 1993-94 season, when he registered 60 assists and 70 points, both career highs.
Galley played two and a half seasons (84-85 to 86-87) with the Los Angeles Kings before being traded to the Washington Capitals in February 1987. He played the rest of the 1986-87 season and competed in the 87-88 with the Capitals. He was traded from Washington to Boston Bruins in July 1988, where he played from 88-89 to 91-92. Galley played in the 1991 All-Star Game. Boston traded Galley to Philadelphia in January 1992 where he stayed with the Flyers through to the 94-95 season when he was traded to Buffalo in April 1995. He played in the 1994 All-Star Game. He then played for the Kings. He played 1 year on the Islanders then retired.

Galley played for Canada at the 1993 World Championship in Munich, where the Canadian squad placed fourth (8-1-2-3-0) under head coach Mike Keenan. Galley's career was that of a journeyman. Its' high point most was participating in the Stanley Cup Finals in 1990. Boston Bruins were defeated by the Edmonton Oilers. In addition he was twice a runner up for the Masterton Trophy for dedication and perseverance to hockey. As a member of the Boston Bruins, Galley took part in the longest NHL game in Stanley Cup Finals history (55:13 minutes of overtime).

- He also works in a consultant, providing programs for youth hockey development.
- Galley has supported the Ontario Special Olympics through participation on the Oldtimers' Hockey Challenge Classic team.
