Garforth Community College

Garforth Community College is a secondary school and sixth form for pupils aged 11-18 and is located on Lidgett Lane in Garforth, West Yorkshire, England.

Garforth Community College has been labelled an "outstanding school" by OFSTED officals and is one of the few public schools on the latest honours list and is also an artsform performing arts school, that holds many musical and dramatic events, such as the Garforth Arts Festival ,which is a display of musical talent, where pupils from the school, and local bands perform on the main street over two days. This has been successful in recent years, drawing crowds from across Yorkshire. There are also extensive sports facilities for students to use, including an Artificial Football pitch, large fields, and several large halls.

The school itself has over 2000 students and staff. It is also one of the pioneering schools behind finger-print placed lunch payment system, which lowers to risk of crime, and solves the problem of students purchasing snacks, reducing the impact of the schools healthy eating campaign.

Garforth Community College completed many projects where they recently spent upwards of £500000 on an Artificial Football pitch, along with a £250000 refurbishment to the Dining hall and reception. All of this money came from selling more than 1/3 of the "sunken playground".

Garforth Community College has recenty spent £40,000 on 10 42" plasma televisions, the plasmas display various powerpoint prentations, the 42" televisions are placed in various leisure areas.
