Gareth Seddon (born May 23, 1980) is an English football player who plays as a striker for Hyde United.
Seddon started his career at Bury F.C. (for whom he scored the club's 6000th goal [1]) before joining Rushden & Diamonds F.C. on a Bosman free transfer in 2004. The following season saw Seddon being forced to retire from the professional game due to being a sufferer of reactive arthritis, a condition brought on by the rigours of full-time training.[2]
Seddon returned to football in 2005 with non-league Padiham F.C. and, despite a one match spell playing for Worcester City F.C. the same season, joined Hyde United in the summer of 2006.
He has gained a reputation for scoring spectacular goals and on January 1, 2007 scored 5 goals in a 7-3 local derby win away at Stalybridge Celtic.[3]
