Gareth McAuley (b. 5 December 1979, Larne) is a Northern Irish footballer who plays for Leicester City.

He plays in central defence and received his first caps for the national side on 4 June 2005. He was named in the 2005/2006 season League Two select eleven whilst playing for Lincoln City.

Previous clubs are Coleraine, Crusaders and Lincoln City.

He got his first Leicester City goal in Leicesters 4-3 defeat against Fulham in the FA Cup at Craven Cottage, and was also on the scoresheet against Ipswich Town heading in both as Leicester won 2-0
