Garden ornament

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A garden ornament is a general categorization used to describe items used for garden decoration. It can include fountains, statues, sundials, masks, chimes, weathervanes and other non-necessities. The first period in which garden ornaments became common in the West is Roman gardens. A great many examples have been excavated from Pompeii and Herculaneum. There is also an Eastern tradition of making garden ornaments (eg in association with Feng Shui).
