Gap Girls

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"The Gap Girls" was a recurring sketch on Saturday Night Live with Adam Sandler (Lucy Brawn) and David Spade (Christie Anderson) as two teenage girls who work at the GAP. Their manager, Cindy (Chris Farley), appears randomly. Their answer to a customer's fashion dilemma, no matter what, was "just cinch it!" – tighten the belt – which became the skit's catchphrase.

There was also a skit that involved Chris Farley as the "fat" Gap Girl, Cindy Crawford (not to be confused with the supermodel). He had the famous line, cutting from the Gap Girl effeminate sounding voice into a scarier baritone, "LAY OFF ME, I'M STARVING!" This was in response to the other Gap Girls intimating that Chris Farley's character should stop eating so many fries since "she" is on a diet.

In later sketches, it was revealed that Christie had a one-night stand with Scott Baio and had an abusive boyfriend, "that a-hole Paul", and that Cindy later left The Gap in favor of working at a coffeehouse called Jitters.
