[edit] Your 02:46, 22 March 2007 edit to List of gay, lesbian or bisexual people/P-T

I have replaced the following people to the list after confirming or supplementing every reference:

  1. Qiao Qiao
  2. Ian Roberts
  3. Anthony Romero
  4. Steve Rubell
  5. Bayard Rustin
  6. Stephen Spinella
  7. Blyth Tait
  8. Andrew Tobias

I'm a little confused why your comment only says you added an image when in that edit you removed eight people from the list. Am I missing something here? --67.188.0.96 02:46, 24 March 2007 (UTC)

I don't recall removing any of these entries. I did remove a few entries from the list as a whole, but only because they did not have citations or were improperly cited, but I'm sure I'd remember if I removed 8. I shall look into it. Thanks for restoring them! *Exeunt* Ganymead | Dialogue? 19:56, 24 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Blackstone

Image was on left because of a basic design principle: when figure looks to right, designers position it on left. If put on right, face looks off the page. If on left, image draws reader into copy. Pepso 21:38, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

Ok, no problem. Generally, images are on the right, but your explanation is logical. *Exeunt* Ganymead | Dialogue? 21:41, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Bob Bloch, vaudevillian?

Really? In what era? --Orange Mike 22:50, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

I'm only going by what the article says. Final paragraph of the intro, next to the last sentence. I'm currently working on a List of vaudeville performers. Now that he's been added, I'll be looking for a source that proves he appeared. *Exeunt* Ganymead | Dialogue? 22:53, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
I think he wrote some vaudeville routines or something, but was not an AGVA member; but I don't have a copy of Once Around the Bloch handy to check. (Something of Bloch's was apparently quoted in F. T. Marinetti, "The Variety Theater" in Collected Writings of Marinetti (1971)). If you find out different, let me know. Bloch was a sweet guy, and fun to talk to; I'm sorry I didn't meet him more often. --Orange Mike 23:18, 26 March 2007 (UTC) By the way, there was a tenor in Yiddish theater by the same name: [1].
Thanks for the source and the info. I'm hoping that the university library around the corner from me will have Once Around the Bloch. I have a copy of the Marinetti and will check it to see what it says. I've had Marinetti's book for ages, but have barely thumbed through it. Now I have a reason. I'll let you know what I find. Cheers! *Exeunt* Ganymead | Dialogue? 04:30, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
Aunt Jemima is a Vaudeville performer??? You're kidding, right? - Alison 20:17, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
The character appeared in vaudeville played by Tess Gardella. *Exeunt* Ganymead | Dialogue? 20:19, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
And Babe Ruth too, yes? Note that you have been reported to WP:AIV for vandalism as a result of your categorization - Alison 20:20, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
This is not vandalism. See the List of vaudeville performers that I have been working on. I have references for both figures. A number of baseball players appeared in vaude as well as boxers and other athletes. *Exeunt* Ganymead | Dialogue? 20:26, 27 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Vandalism

Re. your comment on my talk page - check the edit history. I was the admin that investigated the vandalism report and decided to dialog with you instead of block you outright. In short; I questioned your edits but I did not report you. See this entry in WP:AIV - Alison 21:25, 27 March 2007 (UTC)

Forgive me, I acted in haste. I'm still upset about the incident, though. But thanks for the response. *Exeunt* Ganymead | Dialogue? 21:45, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
No problem at all. Keep up the good work :) - Alison 21:52, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Sincerely regret any upset and am glad to learn that this was a good faith work of yours. But, in my defense, when I suddenly saw multiple Vaudeville Cats popup on such improbable persons as Babe Ruth, Commissioner of Baseball Ford Frick and even a pancake mix trademark (Aunt Jemima) without any explanation in the articles as to the subject's connection with vaudeville, it appeared to be a BOT-type attack. Not being an Admin. myself, I reported it to the Admins. since they have the tools to block a user from further damage. As a suggestion, it would probably be a good idea to explain in the article what the subject's connection is to vaudeville, as otherwise the categorization just kind of hangs there in mid-air leaving the nonplussed reader scratching his head. [edit] Aunt Jemima

Aunt Jemima, a vaudeville performer? I am going to revert the edit, but feel free to re-revert with a proper explanation. KevinPuj 22:51, 27 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] ODJB

I removed the Vaudeville performers category which you added to Original Dixieland Jass Band. I am not familiar with them playing in Vaudeville houses nor touring on the circuits. If you have such info, please add it. As far as I can determine, the group's playing for dancing and not Vaudeville is something that set them apart from other early New Orleans groups that got to New York in that era. Cheers, -- Infrogmation 01:32, 28 March 2007 (UTC)

Thank you for the correction. I will certainly investigate further. I re-read the article and I'm not sure what it was that jumped out at me and said "vaudeville." Anyhow, thanks for adding the Original Creole Orchestra. Do you know of any other notable bands that belong on the list? Thanks! *Exeunt* Ganymead | Dialogue? 03:20, 28 March 2007 (UTC)
