[edit] Image Tagging Image:6thgeneration.gif

Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:6thgeneration.gif. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. feydey 14:10, 12 May 2006 (UTC)

I notice there is a character from the game "Halo" there, Do You own the copyright to that image? feydey 14:20, 12 May 2006 (UTC)
May I inquire what is the purpose of the image in the History_of_video_game_consoles_(sixth_generation) article. In other words what's its contribution. feydey 15:12, 12 May 2006 (UTC)
You say: "Just as an illustration of the Generation" - that is the problem, You use possibly copyrighted images, not created by You and claim in the image "I, the creator of this ..." and release it to Public Domain just to illustrate the articles. Please remember that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia with factual information, there is no need to "spruce up the articles". Please consider removing the images and adding actual content. I hope You understand my reasons for this message. Thanks. feydey 15:38, 12 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Asams10's Unfounded Attack Section

Wikipedia:Requests_for_comment/GameJunkieJim
Talk:.380_ACP

[edit] Why is this here?

Asams10 has seen fit to make an unfounded claim against me, even though he's the only one who attacked anyone. Starting with an attack on me of the Talk page of Joseph Smith Jr. He also attacked Gamers in general on a talk page for the H&K MP7 after I corrected an assumption. When I found a sexist statement (It is irrelevant to the article and only serves to single out women) on the .380 ACP cartridge Talk page, I made a minor edit which did not compromise the article in any way. He insisted on women being singled out, and I contacted an administrator to mediate. The administrator was attacked initially by Asasms10, and two others came on the article and also sided with me. I addressed his bias against Gamers and Women, and he's taken offense.

[edit] Interested Parties

[edit] Confused

GameJim, I'm slightly confused to this whole process. Asams 10 lodged a complaint about your or me? Either way, I think I'm on your side here. What can I do to help? -Jimmyboy2007

It is against me, and I am looking for character witnesses.GameJunkieJim 03:02, 11 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] From Asams10

Your homosexual-referenced attack on me is way beyond the grounds of civility. I don't know what your problem is with me, but it is decidedly unacceptable.--Asams10 05:49, 10 May 2006 (UTC)

It seems you're getting lost in your own zeal to attack me and haven't leveled a basis. Please calmly reread my comments throughout the .380 ACP talk page and point out specifically where I said anything sexist.--Asams10 15:53, 10 May 2006 (UTC)

My last statement to Asams10 I will no longer be directly responding to him until this matter is solved. I am, as they say, drinking my tea. -- GameJunkieJim 17:47, 10 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] References to his Behavior, and his biases

Bias: [1]

"Before editing, I checked the poster's background and he posts mostly on computer gaming entries. Sounds simple to me." - Asams10

NPOV (Personal Politics) [2]

"first include the names of all five murder victims before mentioning the name of the monster who took their lives" -Asams10

Bias: [3]

"I'm quite curious as to your obsession with removing video games and movie references from gun pages. Has it occurred to you that other people might be seeking out such information? And that Wikipedia isn't solely yours? Also, in case you haven't noticed, encyclopedias generally are endless sources of trivia. I've visited Wikipedia numerous times to confirm which weapon is actually in a movie or game. Now it appears I can't do that because of your excessive housekeeping." -Jimmyboy2007

When Asams10 removed this from his talk page, he referred to it as "spam".

Bias, Vandalism [4]

" "Children," as you use it here is an ad hominem attack. It is inappropriate to direct such at other Wikipedians. I'm not exactly sure what your personal prejudices are, but your conduct in deleting others' valid contributions against consensus is inappropriate. Please stop." -CalculatinAvatar

When Asams10 removed this from his talk page, Asams10 referred to it as "attack" on himself, which was clearly not the case.

I think my own behavior speaks for itself.

[edit] Removing Popular Culture References

He has stated time and again his willingness to vandalize gun pages and remove popular culture links. However as you can see by this page here, popular Culture is a completely valid use of Wikipedia, and is quite possibly what sets it above and apart from generic sources such as Groiler's and Brittannica. References to "trivia" should also be frowned upon, as ANY information is trivial to someone. GameJunkieJim 17:40, 10 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Resolution

The false accusation has failed. Justice served. GameJunkieJim 13:44, 12 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] .380 ACP revert war

Do not revert the .380 ACP even one more time or you will be blocked from editing for 24 hours (for violating 3RR). This revert war is getting ridiculous. Neither of you appear willing to compromise. I strongly suggest that neither of you edit this until this matter is settled. ···日本穣? · Talk to Nihonjoe 21:41, 12 May 2006 (UTC)

Hi, I thought I'd let you know that I've deleted the image per CSD I4, since it has remained unsourced for a week. I do think it could be argued to be {{PD-ineligible}}, but even so you'd still need to tell us where it comes from. —Ilmari Karonen (talk) 20:45, 2 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Cdx.JPG

Thanks for uploading Image:Cdx.JPG. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. GarrettTalk 09:21, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
