[edit] Removing redlinks to founders
I have removed redlinks to Kevin Hawkins, Dave Astle, and Michael Tanczos primarily because I don't know who they are. Someone more familiar with GameDev can add them back in if one thinks they are notable enough to merit their own encyclopedia biography articles. For example, I could arguably consider NeHe to be notable since his site is considered the de facto OpenGL red book for newbies. Tuxide 01:20, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
- No, the red book is considered the red book for noobies, NeHe's site is considered garbage that spreads sloppy coding practices.capnmidnight 06:29, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

- There's nothing off-topic about it. And being the talk page, this is essentially a forum. Promit 06:38, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

- And of course Promit, being one of those egotistical and immature people who run the GameDev.net chat room, is always right. I'd back off before he tears your ass up for warning him. 67.168.216.252 06:56, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
- Gee, I wonder who 67.168.216.252 could be? Please don't use Wikipedia for yet further harassment, good sir. Thanks. Zombie81
- The irony is palpable. And about the forum thing, I didn't mean it quite like that ("discussion for the sake of discussion"). What I meant was that "talk" and "discussion" are essentially the same thing, so this page pretty mcuh serves as a discussion forum about the article it's attached to. Back on topic though, I suppose this page could use with a little expansion. I'll probably tackle it tomorrow. Promit 10:06, 23 March 2007 (UTC)

- How is my comment off topic? You're talking about links that should or should not be included. You said that you considered NeHe possibly notable for inclusion and I disputed it. I'm going to reinclude Dave Astle's red link because he was involved in the development of the QUALCOMM BREW/OpenGL platform for mobile gaming. capnmidnight 18:56, 13 January 2007 (UTC)
- I really don't see how the founders have merit outside of gamedev. Qualcomm brew doesn't seem to have a page on wikipedia. Any pages about these fellows probably would never be able to be expanded passed a stub. I would side with Tuxide, I don't think you should red link these people. --Numsgil 06:40, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
