Gamma Epsilon Fraternity

Gamma Epsilon Fraternity is an international collegiate service fraternity founded at the University of Santo Tomas (UST), Manila, Philippines on August 25, 1963.

The Gamma Lambda Epsilon Sorority was established in 1966. UST was named the Supreme Alpha Chapter and the University of the East then became the Beta Chapter which is responsible for the chartering of chapters in the University-Belt area. Gamma Epsilon exist in many institutions in Luzon and is honored as one of the oldest and largest international organizations with chapters chartered in over 200 colleges and universities across the Philippines.

In 1968-69, Gamma Epsilon established its first nest in the Visayas at Southwestern University (Zeta Phi Chapter) through the efforts of brods from Zeta Chapter – Nueva Vizcaya State Institute of Technology in Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya. After few years, there were also Chapters chartered in Samar State Polytechnic College (SSU now)- Sigma Beta Chapter in Catbalogan, Western Samar and in Visayas State College of Agriculture (LSU now)-Alpha Omega Chapter in Baybay, Leyte and it spread all over the Visayas.

Gamma Epsilon became a nationwide organization in the Philippines when it was brought by Brother Manuel Reyes and Percival Virtuso at Central Mindanao University-Zeta Omega Chapter in Musuan, Maramag Bukidnon on September 21, 1972. From CMU, it was brought by Brother Eugene Guhao to Mindanao State University- Omega Rho Chapter in Marawi City, Lanao del Sur on February 15, 1975. To Misamis University-Zeta Beta Chapter in 1977. It was brought by Brother Rolando Quinco to Notre Dame University-Rho Omega Chapter, Cotabato City on September 11, 1978, to MSU-Gen. Santos, Theta Alpha Chapter in August 24, 1979. In the University of Mindanao-Beta Omega Chapter in Davao City on October 7, 1979 and at the University of Southern Mindanao-Phi Sigma Chapter in Kabacan, North Cotabato in the year 1980. Gamma Epsilon rapidly healthy grown and established nest in almost all Universities and colleges in the island.

In mid-70’s, Gamma Epsilon was honored as an international organization, when the chapter at Central University of Madrid, Spain was opened. Simultaneous to the opening of the Chapters at University of Honolulu, Hawaii U.S.A and University of Canada, Canada. Presently, there were also chapters chartered in California and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In 2002, Gamma Epsilon established its latest international chapter at Cholanlonkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand.

Gamma Epsilon is registered with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission as non-stock, non-profit, non-dividend corporation. Any updates by the organization will be published by circulars during Regional and National Conventions.
