Gamma Cancri (γ Cnc / γ Cancri) is a star system in the constellation Cancer. It also has the traditional name Asellus Borealis (Latin for "northern donkey").

γ Cancri is a white A-type subgiant with an apparent magnitude of +4.66. It is approximately 158 light years from Earth. Since it is near the ecliptic, it can be occulted by the Moon and very rarely by planets.
