From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
GAMA Endustri is a multi-national Turkish construction firm. It is involved in construction of buildings, roads, dams, sewages plants and bridges. Power plants are a speciality of GAMA and they are investors in power production plants.[1]
GAMA came to public prominence when their subsidiary GAMA Construction Ireland were accused of paying Turkish workers in the Republic of Ireland 2,20EUR per hour, less than the minimum wage. GAMA's accusers include several members of the Socialist Party, including elected representatives Mick Murphy and Joe Higgins. GAMA are accused of embezzling the remaining wages into Dutch bank accounts which were unknown to the workers. While the report on the matter remains sealed by court order, portions released indicate that the investigation has found truth to the accusations.[2] [3] [4]
