[edit] Redirect
I don't think it's a good idea to redirect your user page to the article about you. Somebody not noting the redirect note might write to the article's talkpage thinking they're writing about you. Actually, people are discouraged to write articles about themselves (WP:BIO). However, since your article has a neutral tone and includes external links, I don't consider it vanity, and I'm not nominating it for deletion. Anyway, you might want to add yourself to Wikipedia:Wikipedians with articles, and to add the template {{Notable Wikipedian}} to the article's talkpage. --Army1987 09:45, 5 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Correction
You are right. I removed the redirection from user to article. As for adding myself to Wikipedia:Wikipedians with articles, and adding the template {{Notable Wikipedian}} to the article's talkpage, let somebody else do it. It was enough that I added my bio, after a request at: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia:Requested_articles/Other_categorization_schemes&oldid=66033793. (My name has since been removed after I added my article).
Thanks for the correction.
[edit] Greek Mathematician
I guess you might be a greek mathematician, but in what ways do you consider yourself eligible to be included in a category with people like Fokas, Carathéodory, Christodoulou and Metropolis? - Energon 11:50, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] I don't know...
I guess Wikipedia maybe requested my bio because... I have invented a new infinite class of complex analytic functions, which have been used to solve an otherwise unsolvable famous orbital problem, an infinite class of unsolvable differential equations, an infinite class of unsolvable transcendental equations and have produced around two dozens of new infinite series expansions related to tetration and infinite exponentials along the way?
For all the rest, take a look at my website sometime. - Galidakis 02:16, 8 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] I do know
I see, Wikipedia requested your bio... Please, keep the cheap jokes for yourself. I asked a reasonable question. So, why the article For You is written By You?

I don't care what contributions you made, but selecting your own self for nomination among those people, is not the most legitimate thing ever.
I have checked your website and I find many interesting things and thoughts. However, this does not mean that You should nominate yourself for the Nobel prize. I am not an expert in your field and cannot judge your work on a scientific basis. But since we talk about contribution and impact I searched for your work http://scholar.google.com/scholar?hl=en&lr=&sa=G&oi=qs&q=galidakis+author:i-galidakis
The only person that cites your paper is YOURSELF. I hope there are many more people that do so nowadays (or do so in the future), and google has not yet updated its database.
Since then you cannot compare yourself with recognized Mathematicians that have hundreds of papers and thousand of citations. Energon 17:04, 28 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Correction
I have to apologize here, because I didn't notice the "requested articles" link from the Wikipedia Editors. I still don't agree with the choice, and I would certainly not include you among notable mathematicians (though I sincerely wish you, to become one in the future, if you want so). However, since my argument was mainly based on writing the article on yourself for self-promotion, it is now debunked and I will not pursue it any more. Still, this website is based on contributions from its users and I will not change my opinion on the matter, even if the editors have a different opinion than mine. [edit] Issue Settled
I am glad the issue is settled. Because if you are not a mathematician, you cannot possibly know the impact of my work. For your information, nobody cites my work (yet), because only a handful of people in the world have worked in that area. This was exactly the reason the wiki editors requested my bio in the first place. Galidakis 00:49, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
