Talk:Galdor
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Galðr meaning should be treated as primary. The Tolkien character doesn't even need his own article, and could be treated at Half-elven or House of Hador or something. dab (ᛏ) 07:33, 3 May 2006 (UTC)
- So... what are you suggesting? 'Galdor' as a redirect to Galðr and then a 'Galdor (Middle-earth)' link (to the current article or some page the content was merged into) at the top of Galðr? That seems rather roundabout to me. Most of the times someone types 'Galdor' in the search box are they going to be looking for the alternate spelling of Galðr or one of three Tolkien characters of that name? I think the latter is more likely. Possibly 'Galdor' should be a disambiguation page between the two as both are used often enough that neither may be overwhelmingly more likely the object of a search. --CBDunkerson 11:50, 3 May 2006 (UTC)
- yes, a dab page would be the best option. My point is that we don't need a Galdor (Tolkien) article, since all three characters are minor. Indeed, the present article is already a dab page (between the characters). dab (ᛏ) 13:32, 3 May 2006 (UTC)
- I note that there was already Galdor of the Havens, discussing both the LotR and the LT character; I made Galdor the Tall a redirect to House of Hador and this into a disambig page; if somebody really wants a separate article on Galdor the Tall, the redirect can be made into an independent article. dab (ᛏ) 13:46, 3 May 2006 (UTC)
