The Gallente are a fictional race in the MMOG EVE Online. They are one of the four playable races in the game, and are known as the most liberal of the four races. The Gallente Federation have a government system very much like that of the United States consisting of an elected President and a Federal Senate. The Gallenteans are the wealthiest of the four races, because of this it is seen as a Promised Land where anyone can make their dream come true. Many of the galaxy's wealthiest people are Gallente.

[edit] Ships & Weapons

The Gallente favor hybrid weapons (railguns and blasters) in combat. Many Gallente ships combine speed with blasters for close-in attacks - in particular, the common 'blasterthron' setup involves mounting blasters on a Megathron-class battleship. Gallente weapons most often deal thermal damage. Defensively, Gallente tend to rely on armor (as opposed to shields). The Gallente are most noted for their usage of drones. Nearly all Gallente ships have drone bays, and many give significant bonuses to drone efficiency, HP, or damage. On average, Gallente ships are faster than Caldari ships, but slower than Amarr or Minmatar ships.

[edit] Bloodlines

The Gallente Federation, although very multi-racial, is composed of 3 main bloodlines. They are, the Gallente, the Intaki, and the Jin-Mei.

[edit] Gallente

The Gallente are originally of French origins, although any direct similarities have long since vanished. The main Gallenteans value freedom and individual liberty above all else. The main Gallentean race originally came from the Tau Ceti system, while still in the Milky Way Galaxy.

[edit] Intaki

The Intakis were integrated into the Gallente Federation a few centuries ago. Their thoughtful and composed manner suited the Gallente society well; the Intakis are especially good at human interaction and are very prominent in the federal bureaucracy.

[edit] Jin-Mei

The Jin-Mei are the latest addition to the Gallente Federation, having joined shortly before the Gallente's contact with the Amarr Empire. The Jin-Mei have a very vigorous caste system which frequently conflicts with the liberal attitude of the rest of the Gallente Federation.
