Galibi Order
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Galibi Order The order under consideration -Galibi order- comes from the tradition of Qadiri-Rufai school – the integration of the earliest and the most popular orders established in Islamdom. It has been called as Qadiri-Rufai order until the order branched off its ancestor school in 1993, and began to be called after the name of its sheikh, Galip Hassan Kuscuoglu ( see Appendix B and O). Presently, Galibi order is among the great Sufi orders in the world with respect to its organizational structure and the number of its Turkish and foreign members. The order has its central dergah in Ankara-Hüseyingazi, (see Appendix C) and has various branch dergahs all over Turkey (e.g., Istanbul, Çorum, Adana, Gaziantep, Kütahya, Isparta, Antalya) ( see Appendix N for the Galibi Dergah in Antalya). Galibi order achieved international acclaim through its presentation in national and international printed and audio-visual media.[1]
[edit] Galibi Order (Galibism)
Galibi Order is a branch of Mohammedian tariqa which had aroused from the integration of Qadri and Rifa'i Orders. It had been systemised in the 21st Century according to H.Galip Hassan Kuscuoglu’s understanding of the Religion and Life Perspective who accepts the civilisation and technology in Sufi thinking except the ones that are considered as Haram, as the must of the Religion without going away from the Judgements of the Prophet. Galibians say that they follow Hanefilik as the religious sect and they are Alevi as disposition(meşrep).
