Gail Brown is an American actress, best known for her role as Clarice Hobson on the soap opera Another World. She played the role from 1975 to 1986 with sporadic one-off appearances following her departure. In his book Eight Years in Another World, headwriter Harding Lemay stated that he intended the character of Clarice to last only two days, but he was so taken by Brown's performance that he decided to add the character to the storyline.
Born Gail Ziegler in Park Ridge, Illinois, her sister is actress Karen Black. While Gail Brown's birthday is given as October 11 (conflicting with Karen Black's birthday of July 1), the National Organization of Mothers of Twins lists Brown and Black as twin sisters. [1] Brown took her professional name from her first husband, Michael Quinlan Brown.
