[edit] phpGedView

Wow! You are on the case! Good work. Tom Haws 22:48, 22 November 2005 (UTC)

  • Thank you but I am not sure why? :) Gadster 18:44, 23 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Metric System

The imperial system seems to be consistently used as the primary unit of measure for American- and British-based articles (though Britian should be moving to metric anyway, yes?). Metric is used elsewhere. - My observations. - CobaltBlueTony 19:01, 30 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Shaftesbury

That's OK, I hope my sarcastic edit summary didn't sound rude! Joe D (t) 05:35, 11 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Page Blanking

On 22-Jan, you blanked Union des Etudiants Juifs de France. Blanking pages is generally considered a bad idea. Since the content has been moved, you should use a redirect in cases like this. The directions are at Wikipedia:Redirect. Thanks! -- JLaTondre 03:17, 23 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Union des étudiants juifs de France

No problem - I know that translating is hard, and so is finding the right place to put a request here. You asked how to hide text by using comments: that is done by standard HTML comments, e.g. <!-- This is a comment--> will produce an invisible comment. Hope that helps, and happy editing! [edit] RE: MATTHEW PERRY (ACTOR)

I didnt think it needed cleanup because the article made perfect sense to me. There doesnt seem to be a major cleanup required. Therefore, I think it is not neccessary for a 'cleanup'. There doesnt seem to be any information to group together anyway. Thanks. -Ladyknowledge

[edit] Len Braund

Hi. My machine locked me out as I was editing Len Braund, which is why the version you saw ended abruptly and had stray text at the end. I've been back and completed it, with my proper author name instead of an apparent anonymous author. Johnlp 22:58, 27 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Vandalism?

sholom aleihem the reason for my repeated altering of the RKKA article is due to irrelevance in provided information. The position advocated by detailed information of lend-lease supplies as opposed lack of any information about Soviet industry is not neutral by any means, but is an outburst of Cold War propaganda when both sides tried to diminish the opposing side's effort in WW2. I think that the detailed information like this belongs in a lend-lease article, not in a general article about the RKKA/Soviet Army

(Copied from User talk:Peruvianllama): Something is wrong. It looks like a script attaching the page. My protection did not work. I am not an admin so I am not sure how to use it. Gadig 22:50, 7 February 2006 (UTC)

Yes, in fact, only an admin can 'protect' a page from other users. I've noticed the vandalism and have been reverting it, so I don't think it's a big deal yet. Thanks for the notice though! Cheers. --PeruvianLlama(spit) 22:52, 7 February 2006 (UTC)
Actually, since I responded, another admin sprotected it. And in the future, if you notice any activity like this, feel free to report it to WP:AIV or WP:VIP if you'd like. That will get it in front of the eyes of a lot of admins. Cheers! --PeruvianLlama(spit) 23:21, 7 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] CMU isn't a "university" but a seminary.

The article itself describes it as a seminary. However, if that's not enough, look at two of the five the degrees it offers. Bachelor of Theology and Bachelor of Church Ministries. Ardenn 19:19, 1 April 2006 (UTC)

So it's a seminary and a university. The Government of Manitoba considers it a university: [1]. Isn't that enough? Osgoodelawyer 13:46, 4 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] University College of the North, a university?

You know, that's a really good question. Most University College's I know of are associated with the University of Toronto so it is typically a non-issue. I think of it more as a psudo-University as a mix between a College and a University. Ardenn 21:56, 7 April 2006 (UTC)

AUCC has many "constituent colleges" even from U of T that are seperate members of their organization. Ardenn 22:09, 7 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Olmert is the Vice Prime Minister not the Deputy Prime Minister

Hello Gadig, please read the following sources. All of them are official:

I can give many more official references to the names of these positions, but I think this gets the point through. Ask me if you have any questions or concerns. Best regards, gidonb 03:15, 8 April 2006 (UTC)

By the way, at present Israel does not have a Deputy Prime Minister, but during this (30th) government first Tommy Lapid then Silvan Shalom served as Deputy Prime Minister. A Deputy Prime Minister is in Hebrew Segan Rosh Hamimshala, while the Vice Prime Minister is Memalei Makom Rosh Hamimshala. Ehud Olmert is the latter since the beginning of the 30th government. He is also Acting PM, as both Rosh Hamimshala Befoal and Machlif Rosh Hamimshala translate officially to Acting PM in Israel. It is complicated. gidonb 03:50, 8 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Canadian Mennonite University

It would be appreciated if you would give your input at Talk:Canadian_Mennonite_University so we can get the ugly dispute box removed (whatever the final outcome is). OsgoodeLawyer 16:59, 10 April 2006 (UTC)

only admins can delete pages and considering the fuss that generaly follows the deletion of a userbox I'm not going to. If it becomes a problem someone will zap it. Otherwise it is pretty harmless.Geni 13:56, 15 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Changes to vandal warning toolbox

I hope you're finding the warning toolbox useful. I've made a few minor changes to it that you might want to be aware of. --Kbh3rdtalk 20:52, 14 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Changing links in people's comments

Editing links in people's comments on talk pages is sort of questionable. I'm specifically refering to this edit: [2]

You might want to consider keeping such edits to the main article pages, and let comments go. Just a thought.

Happy editing. -Harmil 20:35, 20 April 2006 (UTC)

I don't know of a specfic note on this topic off the top of my head, no, but there are various admonishments to tread lightly when dealing with editing others' comments. In this case, you didn't change anything that I think has any impact, but by disambiguating a link in someone's comment, you could easily shift the meaning to something that they feel they didn't intend to say. -Harmil 01:11, 21 April 2006 (UTC)
