The problem is that you say you received "permission" to use the image but not that you received permission to irrevocably release all rights to the image. You need to specify what you received permission for by providing a written response from the Webmaster on the discussion page. If the response says you have permission to use on Wikipedia, that is not good enough. It must specifically state what conditions or licensing they are releasing the image under. -Nv8200p talk 21:18, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
- See Image:Zebra finch.jpg and its discussion page for an example. It specifically states "I'll certainly be pleased to licence the images for free use." -Nv8200p talk 21:21, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Copyrights
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We appreciate your contributions to the Midnight at the Oasis article, but we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. Perhaps you would like to rewrite the article in your own words. For more information, take a look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Happy editing! - Lucky 6.9 02:13, 30 September 2006 (UTC)
I didn't jump to conclusions. I saw the lyrics which, transcribed or not, are a copyright violation. You can link to an external source for the lyrics, though. - Lucky 6.9 02:23, 30 September 2006 (UTC)
No problem. There are sites on the internet which do list song lyrics. The song is certainly worth an article, so anything you can add of historic value is appreciated. You can paraphrase some of the lyrics to help with the article. Hope this helps. - Lucky 6.9 02:29, 30 September 2006 (UTC)
No, this is not a power trip. Copyright violations put this site at risk. Therefore, they cannot stay. Please don't add them - Lucky 6.9 02:37, 30 September 2006 (UTC)
