Hello, I am Gabriel Ehrnst Grundin (born October 13, 1983).

Most perceive me as a introverted, erudite, dour martinet. My interests include languages, Europe, history, etc.

I am a former student of Enskilda Gymnasiet, where I graduated in 2002. After my 450-day tour of duty at S1, I began my studies in Engineering Physics (Teknisk Fysik) at the RIT (KTH) in the fall of 2004.

I also have an account on the Swedish Wikipedia, as well as on Wikimedia Commons and Wikipedia Sources.

[edit] Implicit differentiation

We have xy = 1, what is y'(x) ?

\frac{d}{dx} (xy) = \frac{d}{dx} 1

x \frac{dy}{dx} + y \frac{dx}{dx} = 0

\frac{dy}{dx} = \frac{-y}{x}

[edit] Integration by substitution

\int_a^b f(g(x)) g'(x) dx = \int_{g(a)}^{g(b)} f(u) du

or, with u = g(x) from the start,

\int_a^b f(u) \frac{du}{dx} dx = \int_{g(a)}^{g(b)} f(u) du

[edit] Integration by parts

d(uv) = udv + vdu

\int d(uv) = uv = \int u dv + \int v du

\int u dv = uv - \int v du
