Gabriel von Samalanca-Ortenburg (1489 - 1539) was a Spanish nobleman who was general treasurer and archchancellor of Archduke of Austria (and future Holy Roman Emperor) Ferdinand I from 1521 to 1526.

Descending from a rich family from Burgos, he was chancellor under Emperor Maximilian I from 1514. In the period he made friends with the latters' grandson Ferdinand. When Maximilian died and Ferdinand received Low Countries and Austria, Gabriel acted as his treasurer and archchancellor. His economic measures however largely failed, due to the opposition of the Austrian aristocracy.

On March 10, 1524 he was made lord of Ehrenburg in Tyrol and of Freyenstein and Karlsbach in Lower Austria. He also received Orthenburg.

In 1526 he was forced to resign from his positions, but maintained his fiefs. Here, in Spittal an der Drau, he had a famous residence built by Italian architects, now known as Castle Porcia.
