Gabite (ガバイト Gabaito?, Gabite in original Japanese language versions) is one of the 493 fictional species of Pokémon creatures from the multi-billion-dollar[1] Pokémon media franchise – a collection of video games, anime, manga, books, trading cards and other media, created by Satoshi Tajiri. The purpose of Gabite in the games, anime and manga, as with all other Pokémon, is to battle both wild Pokémon, untamed creatures encountered while the player passes through various environments, and tamed Pokémon owned by Pokémon trainers.[2]

Its name comes from gaburito (がぶりと?), an adverb meaning "enthusiastically" used with functions of the mouth and teeth such as biting, and the English "bite."

Biological characteristics

Gabite looks like a hybrid of a velociraptor and a shark. Distinctive features of both those animals are much more noticeable than in its earlier form, Fukamaru. Its color also becomes a dark blue hue. It also somewhat resembles a blue shark-like Sceptile, where actual Sceptile are reptile-based. There is a fin-like part of its body on the start of its tail. Like its previous form, the females have no cut in their fins.

Caves inhabited by Gabite are said to contain vast treasure hordes. However, treasure hunters that find these hordes are never seen again (compare with Victreebel).
