Astonishing Truth: Gaara's Identity Emerges! (Japanese: 驚愕！我愛羅の正体, - Kyōkaku! Gaara no Shōtai) is episode 74 of the anime series Naruto. The episode's storyline is from the Invasion of Konoha manga arc.

Temari is running with Gaara and he wakes up and tells her to put him down. She does and decides to take the opportunity to treat his wound. However, just as she's brought Gaara to his senses, Sasuke arrives close by. Gaara bats her away with immense strength telling her to get lost. He then begins to transform into his Shukaku form, while Kankuro finishes the fight he should have had with Aburame Shino in the Chunin Exam.

Karasu (one of Kankuro's puppets) is full of hidden weapons such as poison tipped blades, kunai, and poison smoke bombs. Shino uses his bugs to defeat Kankuro & Karasu, though at the cost of inhaling some of Karasu's poison gas. Naruto, Sakura, and Pakkun begin to catch up to Sasuke, but must take the long way around to avoid Shino and Kankuro's fight. The Third Hokage has almost succeeded in removing Orochimaru's soul with his forbidden jutsu.
