G. Dertilis

G. Dertilis was a Brigadier in charge of the forces which surrounded the Polytechnic School of Athens during the Polytechnic Uprising in Athens on 17 November 1973. He was the one who gave the order to invade the University and himself shot and killed a student in cold blood. After the collapse of the Junta he was sentenced in life imprisonment. He currently serves his sentence in Korydallos Prison in Athens along with Brigadier D. Ioannides, as both have refused to ask for clemency .
