G. A. Moore

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

G.A. Moore is Texas high school football's winningest head coach.

[edit] High School Years

Moore attended Pilot Point High School (Pilot Point, Texas) and was a four-year letterman in football, basketball, baseball, and track. He was named to the All-State first team in football and basketball. Moore won 8 combined championships for Celina and Pilot Point. He caused controversy a few times from switching head coaching jobs at both Pilot Point and Celina, who are bitter rivals. G.A. Moore ended his career with an overall record of 412-83-9.

[edit] Recruiting Controversy

Many people believe that Moore cheated and recruited players to come to his school, but this has never been proven. Parents looking for a place to live in the suburbs in Dallas would often pick Celina or Pilot Point, because of its close proximity of the DFW area and the schools'/G.A. Moore's strong football tradition. Thus Celina and Pilot Point both receieved many move-ins and appeared to be recruiting.
