Günter Steines (September 28, 1928 - June 3, 1982) was a German athlete who competed mainly in the 800 metres.

He competed for Germany in the 1952 Summer Olympics held in Helsinki, Finland in the 4 x 400 metre relay where he won the bronze medal with his team mates Hans Geister, Heinz Ulzheimer and Karl-Friedrich Haas. In the 800 metre final in Helsinki he placed sixth.
