Gøtugjógv

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Gøtugjógv, Nordagota and Sydrugota are villages in the Faroe Islands. They are located at the end of Gøtuvík, an inlet, on the east-side of the island of Eysturoy.

The new church in Gøtugjógv is an attraction. Inside it is at huge stained glass made by the artist Tróndur Patursson from Kirkjubøur. The church was heavily discussed in the media as it turned out to be twice as expensive as planned.

From 1980 until 1989 there was a upper secondary school in Gøtugjógv.
