Fuzz Button
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A fuzz button is a high performance electrical contact typically fashioned from a single strand of Au-plated BeCu wire. They are used in semiconductor test sockets and interconnects where low-distortion transmission lines are a necessity.

[1] In a broader definition a fuzz button is any electrical contact made using a compacted mass of small wires. The mesh contact washer between the magnetron and waveguide in a microwave oven is often referred to as a "fuzz button". The "fuzz" term may derive from the felt like nature of the material.
