Fuwante (フワンテ? Fuwante in original Japanese language versions) is one of the 493 fictional species of Pokémon creatures from the multi-billion-dollar[1] Pokémon media franchise – a collection of video games, anime, manga, books, trading cards and other media, created by Satoshi Tajiri. The purpose of Fuwante in the games, anime and manga, as with all other Pokémon, is to battle both wild Pokémon, untamed creatures encountered while the player passes through various environments, and tamed Pokémon owned by Pokémon trainers.[2]
Its name is derived from the Japanese term for floating or drifting (ふわっと fuwatto?).

[edit] Biological characteristics
Fuwante resembles a toy balloon with two strings and cross-like patch (the first "Balloon" Pokémon to actually resemble a balloon), while its evolution, Driftblim, resembles a hot air balloon. Because of this, Fuwante and Driftblim are believed to be the ghosts of balloons that have popped, it is also believed that these Pokémon are formed through the solidification of souls of both humans and Pokémon. Fuwante also has a whispy cloud on its head, referring to its Flying-type. Besides being a balloon, it is a bomb Pokémon of sorts due to its Detonate ability.
When it holds onto the hands of children with its string, it will try to pull the youngster to the underworld. Being so light though, it only gets tossed around effortlessly. Also, the ends of it's two strings resemble hearts.
[edit] In the video games
It is one of the two Pokémon that is a Ghost and Flying type, the second being its evolved form, Driftblim.
It can have one of two abilities; the first, Unburden, raises its Speed when it is without a hold item, while the second ability, Aftermath, is something of a down-graded Destiny Bond. If Fuwante faints from a physical attack (such as a punch or other move involving bodily contact), the attacker takes damage. Fuwante can also learn the Explosion attack (further supporting Fuwante being a bomb-like Pokémon) at level 43, the final level at which it learns an attack naturally. Fuwante has good HP, but its other stats are low.
Fuwante can be caught every Friday at daytime outside the Power Plant.
The animated sprite closes its eyes and appears to puff itself up.
