Futalongkosaurus

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"Futalongkosaurus" is the name given to an as yet undescribed genus of dinosaur from the Late Cretaceous. It is believed to be a titanosaur. Its fossils were found in the Neuquén province of Argentina in 2004. The type species, "Futalongkosaurus dukei" was around 35 meters in length, weighed around 80 tons, and is based on three fossil specimens which the discoverers estimate are around 70% complete. "Futalongkosaurus" lived around 87 million years ago. It is considered a nomen nudum because the fossils have not yet been fully described.
