[edit] History
The label was created in an effort to self-release Jordan's solo works and help promote local bands.
In early 2004, the record label was known as Furik Records but was renamed to Metalhead Records later on that year. The name didn't stay very long and was switched back to Furik Records until late 2005, when the label was permanently named GUI Records.
[edit] Name Meaning
GUI has many meanings and is not to be confused with the computer term. In September of 2005, it was said to be an acronym for Global Under Infinity however the label said any meaning is welcome to their own enjoyment such as said Girls Use Ice, Guitars Use Intelligence and God Uses Insomnia.

In August 2006, California punk band T.R.S. and Trip-Hop artist Citrus Mood joined GUI Records.
In September 2006, GUI Records lost majority of studio work files for many artists on the label. The label is currently idle. The work files on the computer are in plans for backup. This means planned releases (such as WR's confirmed single and album this winter) are currently on hold.
In November, GUI Records announced they are still active and plan on continuing work.
In December, GUI Records announced that WR and Pigheaded are officially dead-projects and T.R.S. are now working under the name Politikal Abuse.
December also brought shoegazing artist Cadogan and punk band Number 41 to the label.
In March 2007, GUI Records has an online store on DownloadPunk.com. Currently, Razor Frank and Furik albums are available to buy.
