The Fury of Dracula is a board game designed by Stephen Hand and published by Games Workshop in 1987. An updated version, dropping the "The" was released by Fantasy Flight Games in 2006.
[edit] Overview
The game is a sequel to the events in Bram Stoker’s novel and takes place eight years after the novel. One player takes the role of Dracula, who has somehow survived his destruction at the end of the original story, while the other player(s) take the roles of the hunters Abraham van Helsing, John Seward and Lord Godalming, with the addition of Mina Harker as a fourth hunter in the 2006 version, again racing across Europe in an attempt to destroy Dracula and prevent him from siring a new crop of vampires.
[edit] Gameplay
The hunter players move openly across the game board, but the Dracula player moves in secret. In the original, this is done using a small board of his own hidden behind a screen. In the new version, the player uses a trail of face-down cards, each representing a location on the board. By various means the hunters deduce and uncover Dracula's path, hopefully overcoming whatever obstacles he has placed along the way (including wolves, rats, bats, armed minions, fledgling vampires, fog, storms and plagues) and gathering weapons and equipment (such as rifles, stakes, garlic and holy wafers) for the eventual showdown.
