From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Fur language is spoken by the Fur tribe in Darfur. The Fur is the largest ethnic group in Darfur. Its members are half of the population of Darfur. They are also living in other areas in Sudan such as Khartoum, Halfa, Algadarif, Portsudan and many other places in Sudan. They are very proud of their language and history The "Fur languages" constitute a small, closely related first-order subgroup within the Nilo-Saharan languages: Fur in western Sudan with 500,000 speakers and Amdang in eastern Chad (also called Mimi) with 5,000 speakers.
