For example, the XML editing tool in Microsoft's BizTalk Server product allows developers to write and add functoids (small code functions) to supplement the simple transformations that the user creates graphically within the tool. The transformations XSLT are used to convert input XML data into a output XML with a different format/form. Style sheets provide similar albeit more limited, filtering & formatting capability; functoids allow software developers to perform processing and combination of the input XML data.
