Funny Ha Ha is an independent film that follows the exploits of the film's recently graduated protagonist Marnie as she tries to find a temporary job and win the attention of a college friend named Alex (who is already in a relationship), while trying to cut down on her beer consumption. Shot on 16 mm film on an ultra-low budget, it provides a glimpse into the lives of twenty-somethings as they try to come to terms with life after college and the future responsibilities of adulthood, if only to put them off for as long as they can. The film manages to successfully capture the vernacular of the modern post-graduate, with a script that interjects "like" and "I mean" into just about every line of dialogue. One can sense the uncertainty and awkwardness that defines the social interactions that the characters in the film experience. Funny Ha Ha's events take place around the Allston neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts.
