[edit] Life and career
Hosokawa was born in the Tanabe, Aomori prefecture, and lived in Etajima, Hiroshima Prefecture until the age of 4. She then moved to Hawaii, United States for a year to attend school there.
She started posing for magazines in December 1990 as a bikini model. Soon afterwards she started singing and acting in films. She is less famous for her acting and singing, however, than for her curvaceous body. Although she is not as large now, at one time she boasted a 94 cm bustline, quite large at the time for models in Japan.
She is 163 cm (5'4") tall. Her official website charts her changing figure over time. In 1990 she was 94-60-90cm (37-24-35 inches). In 2006 she is 90-59-87cm (35-23-34 inches). She has returned to modelling and has released two gravure DVDs in 2006.[2]
She is considered to have been on the forefront on the large bust bikini model craze in Japan. Her contemporaries included Mirei Kuroda and Yuko Aoki.
She once had an affair with Japanese actor/director Beat Takeshi, and published a novel in May of 2003 which some claim was based on that relationship.[3]
