I agree with the anonymous commenter above; Skipwith is not so important as to merit more info. The current entry is sufficient-- frankly I question whether he would even have an entry were it not for his colorful name. Jonathan Versen 19:59, 3 March 2006 (UTC)
Pardon me, but the man was an early United States diplomat, a close associate of Thomas Jefferson (who appointed him to his post in Paris) and Benjamin Franklin (with whom he served in Paris); and the Governor of an independent republic, though admittedly only for the scant 90 days of its existence.
