"Full Moon" is an R&B song written and produced by Mike City for Brandy's same-titled third studio album, Full Moon (2002). It was released as the album's second single in the second quarter of 2002 (see 2002 in music), and received a positive reception from music critics. However, the song's impact on worldwide charts was moderate: While "Full Moon" peaked at number 18 on the Billboard Hot 100 and at number 15 on the UK singles chart, it reached the top 30 in Italy and France only.

[edit] Song information
In opposition to Darkchild's prevailing influence on Full Moon, the album's title track was solely written and produced by Mike City, another longtime Brandy contributor. Distancing itself from the previous single "What About Us?, the beat driven up-tempo song focuses on a less futuristic and more urban arrangement, involving strings, trombones and a piano instead of estranged sound effects. The lyrics of the song deal with the circumstances of an unexpected love at first sight, describing Brandy's point of view, when she meets her "object of desire" during a party.
After the single's maxi CD release, rapper Fat Joe was commissioned by Atlantic Records to hook up for an official remix version of "Full Moon". The rapper was famous for his song "What's Luv?" at this time.
Rare gigs and promo appearances - based on Brandy's heavy pregnancy at this time - caused, that "Full Moon" wasn't as successful as her lead single. Nevertheless the song comparatively big success on the charts with a peak position of number 18 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 singles chart and number 16 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart. Outside the U.S. "Full Moon" entered the top thirty on the majority of the charts it appeared on, but it failed to match the success of its predecessor "What About Us?".
